Suffering in Cape Town

In 2001 when I arrived in Cape Town, I came to my uncle, what I never know about him is the fact that he never had a house in Cape Town or a shack. He was very shocked and weighed down when he saw me and said, “I thought you were joking when you said you want to come to Cape Town”.  He was a well-known man because he was a diesel mechanic for Motale’s bus services in Gugulethu.

I just do as they said, because I had no choice the house belongs to them; the sad part was that I would stand in front of the door not knowing where to go. In the end when the proprietor decides to call me, she will call me to come back to the house after hours of standing outside in the cold. I used to send a small prayer and say: As a world looks upon me as I struggle alone, as I do not have much money but Lord I have you and to you my Lord it is all what matters and I wish they could see, Thank you my Lord. Through those, few words look where I am now.

It is a poor idea to lie to yourself

Lying to you is not just a poor idea but it is cruelty to yourself. There are things that we do and keep being ignorant about them and denying them but at the end the truth always stands. An example working as a cleaner or a security while you have chances to return to school and think you will make it that is a lie to you.

I am a living example, when I was a security I knew from day one that it was not going to be the end of the chapter, the chapter must continue.

I looked at the risks of times I was going and coming back from work and I looked at what I was earning after 31 days I said lying to myself and be proud to say I am working  it is a lie. Of course, yes, I said I was working for 5 years but there was a goal within me that I knew I wanted to reach one day so yes I lied to people and said I was working.

The most important thing is we do not want to accept ourselves; we want to forge other people’s characters, which is the difficult thing to do. All we need to do is to be true about whom we are and admitting ourselves will not make us lose anything but to prosper from who we are at a particular stage. Any way there is nothing wrong about lying to yourself if one day you will learn from your own mistakes.

CPUT Graduation

I was very disappointed in this 2012 Autumn Graduations. Cape Peninsula University of Technology used to prepare some snacks for our diabetic parents but this time there were nothing prepared. An apology was given “Yes” but it was too late. Many of parents were at CPUT before 8:30 am because of the time given for students to collect their seat numbers. This was very sad a bit although I had a belief that there was a very important reason as to why nothing was prepared.

Despite that it was a very happy moment to most of us more-especially National Diploma students. We enjoyed our moment of our National Diploma Certificate award ceremony. It was done with all success. I also enjoyed seeing different types of dress designs and heels people were so beautiful. Men in their different attires most dressed in black and red ties that were fabulous. The CPUT Crew for taking pictures has done very well; their planning was superb I liked it. The speakers were conveying a clear and a concise message through speakers connected at the hall. The bottom line is despite the snacks that were not available everything was well planned and done perfectly.

The sound of one hand clapping

In my point of view, the explanation for “The sound of one hand clapping” has both logical and philosophical undertones. Logically, it is impossible to hear the sound of one hand clapping provided the hand belong to one person. To hear the sound of one hand clapping, it must involve different persons or at least, one hand and another object which can be any part of human body, wall, musical instrument etc. For instance, to strike another person in terms of greeting each other that is also a sound of one clapping hand to each individual. This hand is also clapped in the approval of a business or an agreement made upon by two parties.

Philosophically, this is more of words of the wise that a straight meaning statement that still has some fragments of logic in it. The meaning of such statement varies depending on how and where it is used. It can be negativity or positivity. It is said that a tree cannot make a forest, so the same implies that one hand cannot make a clap. Thus sound of one hand clapping can mean uncertainty, unfortunate, impossibility, absence of unity, self-centeredness and difficulty.  Sometimes sound of one hand clapping can mean glorious thing. It can be used in the event of single-handed achievements such as the single handed achievements of scientific heroes like Galilie Galieo, Newton, Lenz, Hertz, Nicolas Otto and the rest of them. This is my opinion may be there are some valid explanations that can be brought forward.  

Kitchen Priority

The kitchen deserves Cleanliness

The kitchen needs to be attractive

The kitchen needs to be well cared off

There is no need to buy new kitchen ware

The only need is to take care of what you have for your kitchen

The kitchen deserves a dedicated person

The kitchen needs commitment

The kitchen needs to treated like a human being

There is no need to ignore your kitchen

The only need is to take care of your kitchen the way you take care of your face.

Kitchen is where food is made and dished out

Kitchen is where all food remains are kept to be taken to the dirty bins

Kitchen is where all healthy food is stored such as milk

Cupboards and refrigerators are kept in the kitchens

When the food remains are left to rotten in the kitchen the insects have places to hide.

 When you feel like you can't add one more thing to your already full plate you should focus on the most basic of tasks. These are the ones that will get you through the hard times without adding to your own stress because you have run out of clean clothes

Not all who wander are lost

Where courage can be found is where you put your strength to reach positive goals. People will wander why you suffer while you are raised by the reach family, not taking into consideration that you are nothing according to the family, what is yours is to be fed and go to bed with insults for your entire life. There is nothing painful than being told that you will die being rubbish and your siblings will employ you as a domestic worker to clean up their mess.

In that moment you will be lacking power and strength to continue with your studies as a child because the words told are describing your future so you will see no reason to continue with your studies. However although the situation is pointing you towards that direction there will be always an angel that encourages you to go to school.

Anytime an error occurs where you will need to tell the truth at the end of telling it you will regret why you told. Very painful and confusing an example in 1988 Nandie was 10 years old she wanted to go with a friend but she did not know that this friend was too way older than her. Instead of her being told the real reason why she cannot engage herself with friends older to herself when she returned back home she was beaten up by her mother to death by steel door frame pieces that pierced her body up to no decimal point.

“OH POOR GRANDMOTHER WHO HAD TO PICKUP THE PIECES OF HER DAUGHTER”

She could not turn into bed she could not be able to cover herself she slept in her bed helplessly because of pains she suffered. During the times of her brutal attacks her mother will wait until her grandmother goes to church, she will be denied going to church with her grandmother. In 1990 Nandie was in her Grade 7 class she lost her school jersey on a Friday and that was the same day her mother comes from her working place.

Most of the time things used to be better if she first explains to her grandmother so that she can cover for her. This time she was unfortunate when she came home from school that Friday her mother was already at home. Immediately her mother wanted to do laundry she discovers that the school jersey was not amongst the laundry she asked where the jersey is. And that was Nandie’s first time to disappear at home running to the relatives.

Night-time is my time

Night-time is my best times to sit down at home think nice and clearly, it is my time to do all kinds of my chores including my school work. I choose to sleep and wake-up late rather than waking up early and not functioning properly. Public Relations as a career to me seemed to the best. What is best about PR is to meet deadlines. If it happens that we need to wake-up early it is only a matter of a time when preparing special event launching a campaign.

During night-time all ideas are coming clear and concise. This is making things easier on how to solve problems and doing school work with no pressure. While everybody is asleep when the house is quiet this is possible. All I need to do is to write is my list and pick the very important first and lastly the things that are so important then go to enjoy my sleep. Sleeping late after doing your work makes things easier for everyone, me my boss lady and to my group colleagues in class.
