I graduated by Bachelors Degree in Public Relations in April 2013, in the meantime I have been conducting Interviews at Metropolitan. The available job was for a Sales Consultant. Is this job suite what I studied for? I don't know just wait and see.

Requirements: I have to go to the field and sell Metropolitan Policies. Is door to door worth it, No I don't think so. What next? Adopt PR Strategy. How? Ask me I will tell you.

1. Try to find out where, when and what time there will be an event in a place of  your choice, e.g. SAPS events, Hospital events such as Cancer Awareness Days.

2. What next, find Corporate Communication Strategy, Corporate Identity of your Company,  carry the whole thing go book a space in that venue and present your Company and thereby create exposure for you.

I have learned that competition is fantastic; you do not have to let a crowded marketplace to put you off in your small business. People does not by the products but they buy the really you. There is other unique you, then match yourself with what is on the demand out there. Tell yourself that you are a hit. If you sell a product, leaving you behind it applies to the results. Paint what you sell by your personality.

It is okay to love yourself, one of the biggest myths around is that when you have an opinion of yourself means you are stuck or you are big headed. In reality, it is true though. When you love yourself, you project a warm welcome to the world. If you don’t like yourself that means you are insecure.

If I cannot start rebuilding my relationship with my old employers, now then when do I think I would do that? The bottom line is after November someone will be done and dusted with schoolwork and the truth is after Btech seemingly people who started from first year without failing are tired they really need a break or let me say I need a break even if I will return back at a later stage to continue with my Masters.

Therefore, I felt that if I do not visit my ex-employers and tell the story while I am waiting for the right job now, then when I could do that. My plan has worked though but I must keep them updated about the exact date of my availability. Yeeeppeeee!!

On Monday I visited my old place of work, the HR manager asked me about what happens after I resigned and how did it go with my studies, she mentioned some of my words when they laid a doubt on me saying they do not see how I will make it without any job “watch the space”. I laughed as if I never laugh before but I think that was the laugh of joy after such thoughts from people about how am I going to afford. Look at me today, confidence conquers all.

They continued having a lovely chart about what do I want to do after now, I just said, “watch this space”. All was good to me, meeting with them having some old good times meant a lot to me. Building good relationship with your employees was what matters to me. They laughed a lot when I said, “hey guys please reserve me a space I am coming back as from the first of December. The truth is they thought I was joking because of my studies they did not picture me as a security again, why not? I cannot just sit and wait for a miracle job to arrive I can wait there!

My favourite Cat in the Hat book is the story that I read when I was in lower level classes. The moral lesson about this cat was how brave it was to catch its prey. When the teacher read the story, she would act and give an image of how the cat acts and uses its brain. It happened that this cat is a type of a cat that we have at home they are not big cats like wild animal cats. Due to its small size, its prey is as small as the size of the rodents and small birds. These types of cats are active they usually kill ten to fourteen animals per night.

In order to be successful on that they are using their brains to catch their victims, during the day, you will find them sleeping peacefully and quietly as if they know nothing. The moral lesson behind this is cats can teach humans how to behave and use brains in a way that will benefit the community or huge number of people.

Why I have conversations?

 The reason why I have conversations is to exchange views and to listen to ideas, advices and opinions. In many instances, conversations are helping we gain knowledge and experience. In experience, there are two sides positive and negative side it is somebody’s choice to choose the right side meaning the positive side.

Some conversations are quiet, they are done through signs and gestures, imagine passing someone on the street and something fallout from your handbag and this person gives you a sign to look at what is falling. Such people do not even look at you they give you the sign and keep walking. They leave you with conversation, asking and answering questions by yourself.

When I was in Grade 11, I always have this dream that I will be well-educated one day. Days, weeks, months and years pass by and they always leave me with nothing. I never stop though thinking about what I want. I fall pregnant in a period of some years but I kept telling myself that I have a dream to fulfill. I left home to look for the way out nothing was easy at all. I worked as a domestic worker in rural areas getting paid two hundred rand per month.

I later left home for more than one thousand two hundred and eighty-five kilometers that is where I totally convinced myself that I will never return back home with nothing in my hand. I have suffered enough to build who I am today. I am glad though because my big fat dream has been fulfilled what left for me is to set a goal after one another.

Sometimes you have to leave

Some situations are beyond our control, they push you to the edge and a decision need to be taken and realize that sometimes you have to leave. The decision we talking about here was taken by woman who discovered herself in a serious poverty scenario with a child of five to nine months. The woman wanted to clear head by going out of town to look for a job in cities.

This was not an easy decision but it was something needed to be done. She left home she started by doing chars as a domestic worker, later she became a security, lastly she is a graduate, all of the outcome came from a decision made after realizing that “sometimes you have to leave” your home and go out to look for greener pastures.

I dedicate this blog to William family, thank you for giving me a chance to work for you as a domestic worker; you are the first people who made me to be who I today in a sort of way. If you did not employ me maybe, I should have never received the security job that has made me a graduate today. Thank you very much.

Conventional is a good fallback position isn’t it?

Conventional is a good fallback position but I could take that as a compliment. If you are a clear-cut person people who prefer shortcuts in life, perceive you as a stupid or cruel person. An example if a person employed by a corrupt organization some choose to continue with the dirty tricks and strategies of such organization and exploit people.

By doing so, a person sees him or herself as a hero. A conventional person is branded as a person who receives a good fallback because s/he is not accepting things that are not in line with his or her job description.

Funny enough, you will discover that they are not recognized and rewarded of their precise message, they known as cruel people who think for themselves only. The rest has the majority of jeopardizing other people’s happiness by corruption. That is all I can say conventional is a good fallback position.

I work for a Non-Profit Organisation NPO as a Junior Public Relations. In my first day of resuming my duties, there was a crisis. The external stakeholders involve are satisfied by the outcome of the memorandum of understanding that they have build with the NPO. Therefore, they decided to go on public, fortunately for them whomever they went to allowed them to announce on air allegations about the organizations without calling anyone in the organization.

“All publicity is good if it is intelligent” by Oscar Wilde. The only thing worse than being talked about is the one that is not mentioned. We received a huge hail of threats and insults then we had no choice but to call the Radio Station managers refused to respond but the secretary gave us the contact details of the person that went on air without consulting us to confirm if the allegations were true or false.

With immediate effect we contacted the responsible person, we soon set up the meeting same time we sat down and set the records straight after the meeting adjourned everybody was happy. In the following day, the business was normal and operated in a more pleasant manner than ever. It is recognised by people because it went on air intentionally. What a nice publicity. Therefore, there is no such thing as bad publicity.

You cannot chase two rabbits at the same time this sounds like a parable that I once heard when I grew up that “you cannot beat two birds by one stone”. In the past few years I used to sit down and think deep about how could this happen. As I grow older, I started to realize their meanings. Truly speaking these referred to things that used to be impossible but there are those who make them possible. An example studying while working, being a parent while working or studying is one of those. Then when a person is moaning about the challenges s/he encounters you will hear the voice of an elder saying “you cannot chase to rabbits at the same time”.

I think what is important here is to think strategically, if you want to do two things at the same time an example working and studying, you have to think of long-term goals, work and school the whole year is not an overnight decision to make. Number one you need to look at your finances, travelling arrangements, work interruptions, did you choose the right studies, children arrangements at home etc, etc. If one can manage these things then it is possible to chase two rabbits at the same time. Referring to the rabbits and an example of a bird given just insert traps you can catch them both. Don’t you think this might work?

An idea is any thought come to mind at a certain moment, it used to include a planning of something worthy or something unpleasant. These ideas may appear as images in your mind or something practically happening at a moment that will bring an idea. This is part of a human nature, although these ideas may put a human in jail for the rest of their lives while on the other side may raise the name of such particular person to be a Nobel peace prize.

As I start moving closer and closer to my final year of being a student, it is killing me not knowing where I am going to end up or what kind of a job will I be doing. I have a few ideas as to which categories of Public Relations I would like to attempt but the problem is will I meet the expectations of the company. I am confident inside me that if I can be granted a chance to show my areas of expertise I will make it. The big question is how many ideas I have.

According to Alain there is, “Nothing is more dangerous than an idea, when you only have one idea”.  What if I will be working in a company that I do not want, where my mind will stuck, lose ideas and be lost with the only idea I had. When the situation is at this stage, the only thing we can do is to keep our “faith” and “hope”. When we return to Alain, at least I have two ideas “faith” and “hope” and in these two ideas that is where I can keep my strength so that I do not engage myself in a danger of having one idea.

Have you figured out the second head fake?

Life has not been easy but as I always say, the world reflects how you feel about yourself and in order to change that lift opinion of yourself and the world will start to improve. If you lower the opinion of yourself the world mirror your thinking and you will start thinking negative and figure out the second head fake. The only way to fight that is to change you.

Prof Randy Pausch once said “achieving your own dreams, overcoming obstacles, seizing every moment”… and at the end of his speech asked the following: Did you figure out the head fake? It is not about how to achieve your dreams. It is about how to lead your life. If you lead your life the right way, the karma will take care of itself; the dreams will come to you. Did you figure out the second head fake? The talk is not for you. It is for my kids. To understand this better you need to know that the “head fake” he is speaking of means learning something indirectly or an indirect message … as he said in his speech”

I am Thembakazi Myataza, I am born at Eastern Cape. I am a God fearing woman. I am a woman of my vision and always target my goals. I am a person who believes to give time to her because that is not selfish. I like making my hands dirty but in a good way. I believe in constructive criticism that is where I receive strength and courage. I always look forward for better success; I do not look back as if I am in a steering wheel using a rear view mirror. Pain

Pain in your body symbolizes that something needs attention it needs to be taken care off or repaired. This is also the same as the painful event that has ever happen into your life. But everything happens for a reason. If you deny the pain it fosters itself to be seen by everybody. This is the same as when someone is undergoing certain stress disorders and a person keep denying the fact, at a later stage a person just collapse. This is like a toothache the longer you leave it unattended the worse it gets and then you have to endure a lot more dramatic action like someone drilling a wall to hang curtains.

  Accept the pain, take action to heal it and you will grow faster whether emotional, spiritual and in life general. Remove postcards, photos and everything that makes you believe it is the cause of the pain. They are where you have been, replace by new photos that are making you happy and are showing a new direction of where you want to go. Stay focused stop looking where you come from but look where you going to. I just did. The stress response also helps you to rise and meet challenges.  Stress is what keep us doing our work and meet our deadlines, studying for our exams while we are suppose to be watching TV.

According to Andy Warhol in future everybody will be famous for fifteen minutes, I am not sure is saying that in what perspective, it is either in political, social and economical. But in our days there are additional unprofessional careers that are studied by our children. They are becoming famous of smoking drugs, being involved with a group of gang and become famous of house breaking and theft. They hit the headlines of the news because of the above.

When we come into pure profession I am not sure how possible could that happen to all of us, not all of us will be CEO’s and Ministers etc, etc. But sometimes I want to agree with her. The rising technology is making impossibility possible. Today’s world in terms of rising knowledge does not matter about your education level. Through smart phones even a ten year old child is having facebook, and all other social networks are available in today’s phones which are not different to computers.

Anyone anytime can make a video and upload it to be watched by the whole world, some are posting pictures on facebook which are viewed by the public and that is how I can support my statement to agree with Andy Warhol.

The world reflects how you currently feel about yourself; if you lift opinion and self esteem of yourself it seems there is something you gained for a day. If you lower your opinion and your confidence the world is doing exactly what you are doing to yourself. The world mirrors what you think and everything seems to be negative. The truth is since I changed the way of thinking I began to think positive and everything happening in the world turn to reflect how I feel.

If you have a low self esteem this means everything that 

surrounds you has no direction, you have no energy to clean your house or make yourself looks beautiful. If you have wishes to dress to be noticed you will then hide that because of insecurity. These examples might not be true because others are born in that a situation then it affects their environmental growth.

You need to be very careful of what things you do in your

 life to please other people instead of yourself, and how

 these things differ from what you would ideally like in

 your personal environment. However most of the time

 people need to be pleased are parents and spouses. 

A skill set called leadership.

A leader must have the following characters in order to acquire leadership skills:

A leader needs to lead transformational not transactional. When a leader is leading through leadership skills there will be no contracts signed aside, a leader will lead revolutionary an example of a leader who leaded revolutionary is Dr Nelson Mandela. He is SA Icon; he is our logo and many other things that I might not be able to write down now. He is not the only leader with such skills I just chose him as an example we have leaders such as Thabo Mbeki, Helen Zille, Winnie Madikizela- Mandela and Desmond Tutu.

A leader can lead in a two way process it is either on a positive way or on a negative way. There are so many leaders the leave their lives to misled people and people realized when it is too late to turn back. Our focal area today will not be on those who mislead people because they are not building but destroying. Our Nation today is living the free-life of the freedom of speech; of human rights we salute those leaders who acquired a set of leadership skills. Maybe by now as I am writing this peace I should have never got this chance but to remain slavery in a sort of being domestic worker for misleaders.  

Failure

You are only a failure when you stop trying. Never give up in life. Every-time we mess up we withdraw points. Every-time we do something great we praise ourselves. This is same applies when you give up in life you are a failure. We need to enjoy being down and disappointed. There is nothing with being upset, depressed or down. When you accept that you had a bad day just decides to live with it and the day will pass. There is always a reason why you get down and upset. Listen to yourself and choose the right thing to do in that way you will never give up and be told that you are a failure.

Failure breeds success when a person or company realize that is failing if this is noticed early the company quickly warns the investors about the flop that might happen, after that they quickly work on a plan not to allow to fall down. An example Coke was once in this situation but they noticed the problem and they spoke about it, investors prepared themselves but they overcome the obstacles.
